Welcome to our totally renovated new music arranging and publishing Website that we call “HOME!“ It has been a long haul, but we are really excited by all the new, added changes we have made with the many enhanced features that we hope will make your visit that much more enjoyable!

The biggest major change you will notice is that I now offer both Physical Books and a PDF File format for my music arranging and publishing.

BOUND PHYSICAL BOOKS

[Music Publishing like you've never seen before...!]

Our beautifully bound physical books are definitely a cut above what most music publishers are currently offering. Below are some benefits that you will enjoy when you purchase any of my books (excluding the Viola Books and Christmas Melodies, Double Stop Solos & Duets, Volume I, Violin – these are remaining inventory from previous years):

1 — My books are created using a durable comb binding material which works extremely well to ensure that the music book will remain open on the music stand quite nicely (no more swatting at the music when the page moves around or trying to bend it back to keep it open…).

2 — The paper that we selected is a bright white paper, which illuminates the notes and makes them extremely easy to read, almost jumping off the page. I also chose to make the notes larger than most typical music books you will find, all for the ease of the player and the visual limitations that some of us are faced with.

3 — Lastly, each book comes with an aesthetically pleasing front cover, with carefully selected thematic, graphic photos or original art work guaranteed to transport beauty and color right into your living room or studio — all within a music book! We include the stunningly appealing covers because I take great pride in sharing with musicians beautiful visual imagery that will go hand in hand with my carefully edited arrangements of beauty.

What Is A PDF File?

This File format is known as Portable Document Format, or PDF, this File format being developed by Adobe Systems in 1993.

In particular, an extremely nice feature about using PDF files as one format for my music arranging is that when you purchase my sheet music arranging compositions from my Website on the Internet, they can be downloaded directly onto your PC’s hard drive (an E-Mail will also be sent to you that contains these download links). Upon downloading/saving my PDF music arranging files, you can then open and print them at your home or studio, giving you immediate access to the sheet music arrangements.

To open up my PDF music arranging files, all you need is the latest version of the FREE Adobe Reader software, which you can easily obtain by going to Adobe Reader Download and clicking the Orange Download Now Button or clicking on the Blue Link above the Orange Button, depending on whether your PC runs on Windows or is a MAC, respectively.

AUDIO MUSIC LISTENING FILES OF MY MUSIC ARRANGING PIECES:

On our new Home Page, you will notice (unless your PC’s sound system is on mute) that you are hearing my arrangement of The Bach Double written for three violins (this arrangement will soon be available for purchase in Concerto Melodies, Volume II, Duet Melodies for Violin, later this summer).  If you wish to turn the music off, on the upper right hand corner of your monitor, there is a Pause Button that you can click (or you can put your PC’s sound system on mute).

For each book title, I have provided 2 or 3 abbreviated MP3 files (audio music arranging listening files) that you can click on to listen, in order to help you evaluate the quality of the music arranging. To further help you make your buying decision, I have provided you with a small PDF Sample (visual sheet music of the music arranging) from each book.  You can gain access to these MP3s and the Sample PDFs by clicking on any of the Images obtained by first clicking on Martha’s Products on the main Navigation Bar and then drilling down further until you get to my actual music products.

While I enjoy playing violin professionally in symphonies and orchestras, I have discovered that one of my real passions is music arranging and publishing.  Over the past several years, I have become very proficient in using a wonderful piece of software called Finale to help me with my music arranging.  I certainly would not be nearly as productive in my music arranging and publishing if I didn’t use Finale.  Because of this, I am a firm believer that technology has definitely helped musicians like me become better at music arranging!

BLOGGING AND A NEWSLETTER FOR INFORMATION ABOUT MY MUSIC ARRANGING:

We have migrated from the static, HTML structure of our old Website platform to the dynamic, php structure of our new WordPress Website platform, which also functions as a Blog. I hope to be posting regular comments on my Site/Blog and really want to develop a dialogue and relationship with each of you! This dynamic interaction between individual readers like you, which is the very essence of the Web 2.0/3.0 Internet revolution, allowing for the development of a “community,” is something that my old static Website simply couldn’t provide.

String And Orchestral Arrangements

I would like to share with you a bit about my String and Orchestral Arrangements

I am also pleased to share that my arranging skills have expanded into the orchestral arena as well. For the past two years, I have co-labored with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, working painstakingly to create arrangements that will be enjoyable for young children as they attend education concerts performed by the Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. This is such a privilege for me to get to hear my string and orchestral arrangements played with such beauty and skill!

I must highlight a brand new instrument that I finally finished creating my first book of arrangements for, namely the beautiful cello! I am very excited about this!!  The title of this new book is called Christmas Melodies: Double Stop Solos & Duets For Cello, Volume I, and follows in the proud footsteps of the Christmas Melodies Series written for the Violin and Viola.

Additionally, there is one piece written for full orchestra entitled Christmas Melodies for Orchestra. (Since Alfred Publishing Company contract details could not be resolved, this piece will remain self-published and is available for sale on this Site).  This piece made its debut two Christmas Seasons ago (December, 2009), with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra.

WHAT KINDS OF PIECES DO MY STRING AND ORCHESTRAL ARRANGEMENTS INVOLVE?

Thus far, I have five different themes in my string and orchestral arrangements.  They are: Christmas Melodies, American Melodies, Hymn Melodies, Classical & Romantic Melodies, and Wedding Melodies. Within these different themes are varying combinations of instruments and book flavors. I encourage you to listen to the MP3 Samples, view the PDF Samples, and read the descriptions to get a better idea of the musical focus within each book title. Since I am a private violin instructor, I like to try and write music for all kinds of different levels of players, from the novice all the way up to the most advanced. All levels are special to me!

Martha's Violin Duets

Martha’s SIX New Volumes Of Violin Duets…Are Finally Done! (See Details Below) I announced earlier last summer that I was completing a major new violin arrangement project…in addition to trying to get this Website ready for its grand re-opening!  I shared with you at that time that I thought this would involve five new volumes of violin duets.  I had really hoped that all five volumes would be completed by the time we re-opened our Website, but, like fine wine, I will not serve my arrangements of violin duets before their appointed time.

The total number of volumes increased to six due to the length of Concerto Melodies (which necessitated this being broken into two separate volumes).

But why aren’t they ALL on the website yet?

My husband and web designer, Ken, is in the process of completely rebuilding our website – [I know the third time will be the CHARM!!] He will hopefully be finished within a week or two—maybe sooner.

Ken is working very hard to create a homepage which will give our visitors immediate access to all of our products, organized by music theme and instrument. The link structure that he is building will also be a very helpful improvement. [Go, KEN!!]
